Catarina Reis is an architect and media artist based in Lisbon, Portugal, working at the intersection of art and science. She has recently been focusing her practice on artworks that explore feral ecologies and unexpected ecological entanglements through transdisciplinary practice-based and research-creation methodologies. Catarina is currently a Ph.D. researcher at the Department of Multimedia Art, Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon. In 2020, she was awarded a Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT Portugal) doctoral grant for her research project titled "Tentacular Ecologies," which investigates interspecies co-creation. By combining artistic practice with scientific and technological tools, her works aim to uncover new possibilities for ecological understanding and aesthetic engagement with nature.
